Niš 2019

This year, the tenth European Night of Researchers, will be held on Friday, September 27, in Niš. The science club of the Regional Center for the Professional Development of Education Employees Nis, one of 14 that the Center for the Promotion of Science opened in 2016, will host researchers and all science lovers from Nis and its surroundings from September 23 to 27, 2019. Through the slogan of the European Night of Researchers "Tenth night, through knowledge gives power" science will call you at all points. The Road to Science Friday changes focus and promotes the values of cultural heritage and natural resources in society, highlighting the importance of the role communities play in preserving cultural heritage.

• Officers' Home, Orlovića Pavla 28a, 5-10 p.m
  With the help of an interactive model, we take you to Tesla's laboratory in Long Island. Technologies of 3D printing, robotics, reverse engineering, machine simulations, virtual and augmented reality and machine learning will be presented. This year, the interdisciplinary team of the Musicorn music studio will try to show you the connection of different senses in the perception of certain sensations. Through various multimedia presentations, the character of contemporary art that lives its intertextual/transmedia reality will be illuminated. Through the digital reconstruction of Nis, we will bring its history closer to you. You will also find out whether the future is safer with mathematics, what are the truths and misconceptions about the use of animal species in alternative medicine, who are fish doctors, how can we preserve natural heritage and what are the possibilities of applying smart meteorological stations. You will also learn about artificial spider webs, bioplastics, biomaterials, airgels and other materials that herald the future. You will try your hand at being a detective and take a peek into the magical world of sparkling plants. You will also learn how to "read" the periodic table of elements. In the European corner, through brochures and stories of our researchers, you will get to know the European Union, ways of mobility of researchers and students in Europe. In the Etno corner, you will learn more about items that were an indispensable part of every rural household from the beginning of the 20th century.
• "Nikola Tesla" University Library, Niš, ul. Kay Mike Paligorića 2, 17-22h
  Through the exhibition "Libraries of the future - is it about technology or magic?", we want to conjure up the library of the future to all our visitors. We will present modern technology that we use in our daily work and that is available to users for the purposes of education, but also for creativity and entertainment. We have dedicated a segment of the exhibition to the presentation of outdated technology (the first machines and equipment) that the library is proud to preserve.
• Niš National Museum, Synagogue Gallery, ul. Davidova 2, 12-5 p.m
  Visitors will make necklaces and earrings based on jewelry that was found during the excavations of various sites from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages and that is kept in the Museum today, while getting to know the archaeological collections of the National Museum of Nis. By choosing the items that visitors handle, we will present jewelry as a universal specimen that can be found in almost every museum collection of the complex type.

  Through the "Theatrical Poster" exhibition and workshop, visitors will receive the necessary explanations related to the poster - what the poster is, what it is for, what are the most important elements of the poster, etc.
