Magnificent red-hot mountains-volcanoes often cause major natural disasters in the world and are considered the biggest and most dangerous natural pollutants. A volcano is an opening in the Earth's crust, through which lava, ash and gases are pushed to the surface, where they cool and settle. Volcanoes significantly influence the shaping of the Earth's relief. On Earth, they are most often found at the edges of lithospheric plates, which is why earthquakes often occur in those regions. These are all facts from geography that you know...but do you know that from chemistry you can also learn about volcanoes and make a volcanic eruption. At the workshop "Chemistry can also make a volcano", you will see a demonstration of a chemical volcano and learn about biogenic chemical elements.
