Exhibition of the National Museum in Šabac - "Serbian Stonehenge"

Exhibition Serbian Stonehenge - archaeological discovery in Pocerina. The successful collaboration between the Šabac Library and the National Museum in Šabac, which began in 2010 with the organization of individual exhibitions by Igor Belohlavek Award laureates, resulted in the creation of the interesting Museum in the Library Edition, which was realized for the first time in 2016. This year, the exhibition will be dedicated to an extremely important archaeological discovery in Desić - an object that dates back to the Copper Age.

The first archaeological research in the village of Desić was carried out in 1967. Fifty years later, in 2017, the National Museum in Šabac launched, and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and the City of Šabac supported the project Archaeological research of the sites: Parlozi, Šančina, Paripovac in Desić near Šabac. It is important to note that our Stonehenge is older than the English one by more than 1500 years, and that it originates from the Early Eneolithic (Copper Age) which lasted from 4300-4000. years before the new era.
