Dejan M. Radovanović

Born on September 9, 1964. in Smederevo. Graduated in 1992 in Belgrade at the Faculty of Philosophy - archeology group. Worked as a journalist in the Studio of RTS in Smederevo from 1993 to 1994. He has been employed at the Regional Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Smederevo since 1994, where he obtained the professional title of archaeologist-conservator advisor, and since 2015 he has held the position of director.

Led protective archaeological investigations: Smederevo fortress, Ram fortress, medieval town of Ždrel, monastery of St. Trojica near Gornjačka klisura, Zaova, Tvrdoš, Pokajnica, Koporin, as well as a number of smaller protective sounding archaeological investigations and reconnaissance on the territory of the Danube and Braničevo districts.

He worked on recording and establishing archaeological sites and industrial heritage. He participated in the development of a large number of studies, projects and studies in the field of protection of the monumental heritage in spatial, general and regulatory plans of municipalities in the Danube and Braničevo districts. Published a large number of professional works in the field of archeology and protection of immovable cultural heritage.

He is a member of the Serbian Archaeological Society and the Society of Conservators of Serbia, of which he was the vice-president from 2008 to 2011 and the winner of the DKS Grand Prize. He is the founder and president of the Association for the Care of Natural and Cultural Heritage "Hrast" from Smederevo.

He is actively engaged in promoting and popularizing natural and cultural heritage, especially through working with children and organizing: events, multimedia exhibitions, performances, trips, lectures, workshops, internet presentations, writing professional papers and newspaper articles.
