Dr. Marija D. Marić

She was born in 1982 in Kruševac. She completed her basic academic studies in archeology in 2006 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, where she obtained the title of Doctor of Archaeological Sciences in 2015. Since 1999, she has attended an archeology seminar at the Petnica Research Station, where she has been a professional associate - lecturer since 2007. She started her professional career in 2006 at the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments in Kraljevo, where she obtained the professional title of conservator-adviser and was actively engaged in research, protection and presentation of archaeological heritage. Since 2023, she has been employed at the Department of History of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, where she participates in the teaching of ancient archeology and cultural heritage.

She was a scholarship holder of the Berliner Antike Kolleg (BAK) for a study stay at the Free University of Berlin (2016), the Römisch-Germanische Kommission des Deutschen Archäologischen Institus for a study stay at Cambridge (2012) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia for a study stay at the University of Ljubljana (2011).

She managed numerous projects in the field of cultural heritage protection. She participated in many archaeological researches, scientific and professional conferences in the country and abroad, and actively worked on the media promotion of Serbia's cultural heritage. She is the author of several publications in the field of Roman provincial archeology and cultural heritage protection.

She is a member of the Serbian Archaeological Society (SAD), the Society of Conservators of Serbia (DKS), the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA), the international association Aerial Archeology Research Group (AARG) and the national committee of ICOMOS.
