Dr. Vesna Đikanović she was born in 1976 in Belgrade. She graduated from the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade, Department of Biology, in 2002 with the defense of her diploma thesis "Social Behavior of Primates". After that, he enrolled in post-graduate studies and obtained his master's degree in 2007 with a topic that deals with the examination of the aquatic macroinvertebrate community of the Golijska Moravica river. She defended her doctoral dissertation in 2011, which deals with the study of the fauna of intestinal parasites of various species of Danube fish, and their transitional hosts from the group of aquatic macroinvertebrates. For 20 years, he has been working at the Department of Hydroecology and Water Protection of the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" at the University of Belgrade. He deals with issues related to the ecology and protection of aquatic ecosystems, biological monitoring, nutrition of benthic fish species, the study of intestinal parasites of fish in the waters of Serbia, as well as determining the concentration of metals in various tissues of fish and parasites.
