Dubravka Škraba Jurlina was born in Belgrade in 1982, where she completed elementary school and high school. She graduated from the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade in 2010, majoring in General Biology. In her final year of study, she chose Hydrobiology. She is employed at the Faculty of Biology at the University of Belgrade as a research associate at the Department of Morphology, Systematics and Phylogeny of Animals. A narrower field of interest within hydrobiology that she has chosen is ichthyology, specifically molecular and population genetics of freshwater fish, as well as their ecological and conservation aspects. As part of her doctoral dissertation, she dealt with the reconstruction of the evolutionary history of the brook trout complex of the Western Balkans. He is a great lover of animals and travel.
