Irida Lazić is a researcher and teaching associate at the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade. As a doctoral student, he deals with numerical climate modeling and researches how to improve climate forecasts and give us a picture of what kind of climate awaits us in the future. Although unusual, meteorologists often use programming in their research, and Irida in particular faces the challenge of applying artificial intelligence in meteorology. In his "mini laboratory" which is actually a huge computer program - a model developed years ago with the help of scientists around the world - Irida studies how the equations of physics are transformed into sunny, warm days or into storm clouds full of hail and lightning. These models use physical laws to simulate climate processes on planet Earth. In his free time, Irida is fond of traveling, karate, running and beekeeping.
