Jelena Stanković she was born in Pirot in 1992. She is employed at the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" as a research associate and is part of the team of the Department for Hydroecology and Water Protection. Interest in the aquatic environment and the living world in it existed from an early age, which is why she focused on biology and ecology studies. After completing her master's studies in ecology, she decided to research in the field of ecotoxicology with a focus on microplastics, on which she received her doctorate. For the last few years, he has been waging a battle against plastic particles in living systems at the microscopic level, in the hope that someday it will have macroscopic significance.
