You know that the excessive use of single-use plastic brings with it numerous problems?

Tenebrio the petitioner, better known as the mealworm, can help us solve some of these problems. Namely, the mealworm has unusual food preferences, and can easily consume and break down plastics such as Styrofoam and plastic films. These properties can help us eliminate the dominant types of plastic waste from nature. Also, discover why insects themselves may become a global food source in the future, just as they have been on some cultures' tables since ancient times.

It's important to avoid single-use plastics whenever possible, but when we really can't choose, maybe we can call on the bugs for help!
